Updated notice to clients, donors, and community members:
As of Friday, March 20, 2020 the CRC continues temporary operating procedures during the period of mandatory school closure through April 5, 2020. This has impacted food pantry shopping, Weekend Kid Meal distribution, MIBridges assistance, VITA tax services, volunteer activities and more.
For now, the CRC is “open” for modified business hours “by appointment only”.
- Mondays and Wednesdays: 11:30am-2:30pm
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9am-2:30pm
- Fridays: no onsite hours, email will be monitored 9am-noon
Please continue to call our office at 734-428-7722 or text our cell# at 734-433-6707 or email our office at info@manchestercrc.org to schedule a time to pick up pre-ordered/pre-bagged food pantry items (2020 Pantry Order Form ) or Weekend Kid Meal bags, drop off documents for MIBridges applications/redeterminations or VITA tax follow up, or interact with CRC staff.
For now, we are not asking for any new volunteers to help out onsite. Staff and two of our regular volunteers have been working together to manage our services during the limited hours we are in the building.
If you want to help the CRC, please consider the following:
- drop off donations on the cart located outside our door during our temporary business hours (any donations will be accepted, but please don’t leave donations when cart is not outside)
- make a financial contribution via our website’s DONATION button or by mail (http://manchestercrc.org/ or PO Box 433, Manchester MI 48158)
- check on your neighbors, family members and friends-if they need assistance, help them contact us (new clients are being accepted with limited intake requirements and emergency USDA food is always available to everyone who asks)
- stay informed and share accurate information with those who may not be as connected – for example, follow the Manchester Mirror for updated information from local, county, state and federal governments and like/follow the CRC’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CRCManchesterMI48158/
We recognize that residents may be impacted by a loss of regular income or even employment as a result of business closures and cancellations. The CRC will help everyone in need of food during this time – no matter your regular income or place of residency. We will also do our best to help people access temporary benefits or financial assistance (phone guidance if possible-not in person). Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at 734-428-7722 or text our cell# at 734-433-6707 or email our office at info@manchestercrc.org.
Share our updates with your friends, family members and neighbors, and stay tuned for further updates as the situation evolves.
Finally, THANK YOU to all of our community partners-individuals, school district, health systems, churches, businesses, agencies and organizations! We sincerely appreciate your continuing support.
Stay well,
