Notice to clients, donors, and community members:
As of Friday, March 13, 2020 at 12:00pm the CRC has implemented temporary operating procedures during the period of mandatory school closure now through April 5, 2020. This will impact food pantry shopping, Weekend Kid Meal distribution, MIBridges assistance, VITA tax services, volunteer activities and more.
First of all, we plan to be open for modified business hours while the schools are closed but on a “by appointment only” basis as a best practice during this time. This means you will have to call our office at 734-428-7722 or text our cell# at 734-433-6707 or email our office at info@manchestercrc.org to schedule a time to pick up pre-bagged food pantry items or Weekend Kid Meal bags, drop off documents for MIBridges applications/redeterminations or VITA tax preparation, leave a donation, offer to volunteer, or interact with CRC staff.
Regular CRC site volunteers have been encouraged to take the time off as most of them are in an at risk category and many have opted to do so. Several temporary volunteers have already offered to step up to help bag food items, pick up food from grocery stores or deliver food to clients. We will be reaching to those who have contacted us early next week and will post additional needs as they occur.
Finally, we also recognize that residents may be impacted by a loss of regular income or even their employment as a result of business closures and cancellations. The CRC will help everyone in need of food during this time – no matter your regular income or place of residency. We will also do our best to help people access temporary benefits or financial assistance. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at 734-428-7722 or text our cell# at 734-433-6707 or email our office at info@manchestercrc.org.
We realize that many community members are not directly impacted by the school closure so please share this information with your friends, family members and neighbors.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the situation changes.
